ONLINE MUSEUM
To the Online MuseumThis museum is not about dusty artifacts from the ancient world, but rather about the spiritual legacy they have left us, which remains relevant to this day: their words of wisdom.
The wise people of ancient times distilled their life experiences and observations into short, catchy sayings that still inspire us today.
In the online museum, these texts are sorted by theme, so you can find something relevant to every aspect of life. In each exhibition room, you will find questions to help you reflect on what you have read and apply it to your life.
If you are looking for lasting values because you have seen through the empty promises of hypercapitalism, you have come to the right place! The sayings know what is good for us in the long term and also focus on the coexistence with humans and nature.

EDUCATION
To the Educational OpportunitiesSince proverbs capture knowledge about life and people gained through observation and experience in the form of catchy food for thought, they have always been of interest to education.
These texts served as sources for the training of civil servants and kings. However, thanks to their easy-to-remember form, proverbs quickly spread and developed beyond elite circles to become popular wisdom.
Who hasn’t heard sayings like “He who digs a pit for others falls in himself” or “Good things need time” as a child? And it is in the nature of sayings that they accompany us into old age and stand by us as advisors! Our educational offerings help you to systematically exploit this potential.

PSYCHOLOGICAL COUNSELING
More InformationThese wise sayings can awaken in us the desire for change. But sometimes we need a little help to get started, because it’s not always easy to do it alone.
Psychological counseling can give you new perspectives and helpful tools to deal constructively with the areas of your life that need work and to experience change.
To avoid this becoming an expensive endless loop, we offer a package of three 45-minute sessions. These focus on a topic of your choice and are designed to help you deal with it yourself.
These sessions can take place online or on site in Waldbronn.

In many cases, a saying creates an image in our minds through its metaphorical language. This makes them very easy to remember and their message leaves a lasting impression.
“A picture is worth a thousand words.” This saying also applies to sayings. A work of art accompanying a saying appeals to us in a different way than the words alone. And it is also beautiful to look at.
Here you will find works of art that were created to accompany the sayings in the online museum. If you would like to view these works of art not only on your screen but also on your living room wall, you are welcome to purchase a handcrafted replica.

about me
Marco Gusset
At first glance, you might get the impression that I can’t decide on a career. But who says you have to fit into a conventional mold? I don’t want to miss out on any phase of my life, because each one has taught me something important.
- Shoemaking taught me to love craftsmanship and appreciate sustainability.
- Studying theology taught me to see people in a complex web of history, culture, worldview, fate, divine action, and personal responsibility.
- Ten years of intercultural experience made me appreciate other cultures.
- My knowledge of pastoral care and psychological counseling enables me to help others better understand the connections between their thoughts and actions.
- Ancient Near East proverbs show me that living for the benefit of others also serves my own best interests. I’m a member of the International Society of Parömiology (AIP-IAP).
- My doctoral studies make me a better educator, leader and teach me perseverance.
- Studying instructional design and technology helped me create an online environment where I can pass on to others what has been valuable to me.
- In my work as a dyslexia coach, I practice putting myself in other people’s shoes. And I enjoy it when obstacles are overcome together.
