about me

At first glance, you might get the impression that I can’t decide on a career. But who says you have to fit into a conventional mold? I don’t want to miss out on any phase of my life, because each one has taught me something important.

My Career

Theologian:

Studied theology in Switzerland (1999–2002, BA equivalent), Berlin (2006–2016, Master of Theology: South African Theological Seminary) and Korntal (2019–2026, Doctor of Ministry: Columbia International University). Several years of intercultural community work and teaching.

Adult educator & dyslexia coach:

Several courses in adult education as part of my theology studies. Online studies in the didactics and technology of e-learning (2020-2021, MicroMaster: University of Maryland). Research on e-learning as part of my doctoral studies.

After training as a dyslexia coach, I am currently working part-time to help children with reading and spelling difficulties.

Psychological Counselor:

As part of my master’s degree, I wrote a thesis on intercultural pastoral care. Valuable additions were made through my studies at the Academy of Modern Applied Psychology (Achology) and also through courses on leadership and conflict management as part of my doctoral studies.

Paremiologist:

Because proverbs have always seemed to me to be valuable sources of advice, I initially taught biblical wisdom literature at a theological seminary. Then I began collecting and sorting proverbs from the Old Testament context (Egypt, Mesopotamia, Israel). As part of my doctoral studies, I am researching their didactic implementation in e-learning. I am a member of the International Association of Proverbialists (AIP-IAP).

Shoemaker:

1993-1996 Training as an orthopedic shoemaker. After that, professional experience in various companies. Stays in the Middle East and Turkey taught me how to reduce the effort involved in shoemaking. For 12 years, I was self-employed with a workshop for shoe repair and vegan custom-made shoes (wood, cactus, and cork).

Hobbies:

To relax, I play music (guitar, frame drum) or listen to it on good, homemade speakers. I find both carpentry and technology exciting. I have now made more than 12 pairs of speakers. For several years now, I have been growing vegetables on my terrace and am amazed at what God lets grow and what snails can devour.
